About their names:
*Woad Warriors - Religion
and magic are powerful reasons for bravery. Woad warriors are
brave fighters. They disdain armour and most clothing, preferring
to paint themselves with intricate and stylised magical designs
in woad (a blue dye) to deflect enemy blows. The medieval Scottish
rebels made famous in the movie Braveheart used dye from the
woad plant to paint their faces blue for battle.
*The Pawnee Indians - Farmers on the Plains ... The Pawnee,
who are sometimes called Paneassa, historically lived along the
Platte River in what is now Nebraska. In a short battle, the
Villasur expedition was wiped out by Pawnee warriors in 1720.
ABOUT THE COLLECTION: All who love horses, like to share their
